Now that the concept of Delicious apples is established and thoughtful keywords are doing their work, variations on the theme can be added to emphasize whatever it is that needs to be emphasized. A series of related keyword phrases may be added in additional articles to enhance your ranking in the same but different phrase structure.

Thoughtful consideration says more then you think

There is a reason that web-crawlers want article content to be relevant. They want the searcher to get what they want in the shortest amount of time. If the keywords are thoughtful in nature they will be relevant because they are taking the readers “wants and needs” into consideration. In this instance, the searcher likely wants to order or learn about apples. You have apples as the relevant word in the phrase. The searcher may or may not have known that there is a Delicious apple variety but now he does. You are giving the searcher what they want in a thoughtful relevant way quickly. This event could well need moving services in Vancouver to respond to a larger influx of people.

a:A Sort History of Mountain Biking

Some may think mountain biking is a new adaptation but its roots can be traced to the Buffalo Soldiers

Characterizing the history of mountain biking is an interesting task right from the beginning. The first 150 years, or so, of biking in general could be characterized as mountain biking in terms of today’s “sport.” This was, generally, because there were no real roads to speak of. For the most part, “roads” were more like mud trails unless the rider came across one of the few trade rout roads being constructed in the later part of the 19th century or wasin an urban setting.

Although some may disagree, the first signs of what might be called a mountain bike tour came about with a 1,600 mile round trip by the “Buffalo Soldiers” out of Montana. This group of black infantry men, led by a white lieutenant, were charged with investigating the possibility of using bikes for military applications. Their bikes were appropriately modified and taken over some rather difficult terrain.
Using this example as one of the first applications of bikes in the mountains may be dubious when considering what we call mountain biking today, although it does fit a certain set of criteria. Modified bikes were used to ride, where possible, in the mountains.

A More “Modern” Characterization

To reach what is more often referred to as mountain biking a jump of roughly fifty years needs to be taken. In the 1950’s, bikes were again being modified and then modified again. Although there were many companies and brands involved Schwinn became an inclusive term to describe not only the bike in general but the modified version as well. The characteristics found on today’s mountain bikes began to appear in some form or another from these modifications. Some of these characteristics included:
Wider tires
Stripped down frames
Better breaks

At this point there was, again, a certain stagnation in the development of what is now considered a mountain bike. The first names of the soon to be sport, however, began to appear. Stump jumper was one of the first names given to a stripped down version of this type of bike (and the name given to the first commercially viable “modern” mountain bike company of note.) These names and types of bikes are still used off road and in urban settings today, although most people would not know to call them this. Generally, they go by “bike.” Oddly, these bikes have made a certain resurgence and are being offered by manufacturers in the early part of the 21st century although they were very much supplanted by the events that began to unfold in the late 1970’s.

The “modern” mountain bike

Although there is a certain amount of discrepancy with regard to the exact date (1974, ’76, ’77) and location this period is considered to be the founding era of the modern mountain bike. There are two competing groups for the honor of founding the activity, one in Marin, CA and one in Colorado. Some will dispute the decision but the Marin California choice is the one that the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame chooses to recognize as the founding location.

With deference to the Morrow Dirt Club, who were making modifications to their own bikes at the time, a group of riders began to modify their own bikes to ride in the hills around the county. Largely a group of escapees from an emerging (from rampant drug addiction and poor economy) and growing San Francisco this group began modifying their bikes for riding on Mount Tamalpais (Mt. Tam.) The group (Joe Breeze, Otis Guy, Gary Fisher and Keith Bontrager) would ride in a fashion of abandon down the mountain to see who could cover a set course the quickest. To navigate turns they would burn out breaks and need to modify them so they could complete the course more quickly. It is largely this factor that introduced a bike called a repacker. The bikes breaks got so hot that they would have to repack them with more grease because it melted away.

And so it began

As word spread about these people and their bike modifications the race down the mountain became a destination for the many riders working to modify their bikes along the same lines as the original Mt. Tam riders. Modifications came and went but not before one of the more finished prototypes was arrived at through riders sharing and stealing ideas. Unfortunately, society caught up with this group and the racing at Mt. Tam ended as insurance requirements could not be worked out. Some of the resulting ideas, however, made there way into current bikes through the founding of StumpJumper by Gary Fisher. Some of these bike elements included:
Lighter frames
Disk breaks (from Morrow Dirt Club)
Higher gearing
Differing shifting mechanisms
Tire configurations
Quickly changing evolution

From this point forward the evolution of the mountain bike has been staggering. New innovations are a regular occurrence and are often found at the many professional events that are staged annually. Differing riding styles have been developed as riders learn what the bikes are capable of doing in differing terrain conditions. Naturally, larger companies have entered the market to make it a very large revenue generator.

Some of the new riding styles that have emerged since that time at Mt. Tam include:
Downhill
Cross country
Dirt jumping
Free riding
Each of these styles has a unique feel to it. The downhill is an all out mad dash to the bottom of a mountain for the quickest time. The cross country event is a fast ride along a trail with many obstacles to traverse along the way. The free ride is a combination and a fun ride to wherever a rider may choose and the dirt jumping event is one of style and form found when the rider jumps off a mound of dirt (loosely speaking of course.)

Some may say that steel has built our modern world. Take a closer look and one might find that marble is a better material to stake that claim. The value that marble has carried for thousands of years is undeniable. It is not, however, the only valuable stone found in history and also not the only one where a profit can be made.

Jade Art group Inc., A development stage Chinese jade concern, is quickly working to vertically integrate a unique jade deposit found within the Peoples Republic of China. Current raw material contracts have been signed on both ends of the vertical spectrum. The first involves a 50 year contract with the mine for distribution rights to 90% of the deposit. The second involves several contracts, totaling $US11 million, for the resultant jade in various grades to artisans and commercial vendors. From a general perspective, the company plans to offer its jade through its subsidiaries to jade and wood carved products dealers within China and internationally.

In-of-themselves, the jade contracts signed might not appear to be impressive. However, if a closer look is taken, one would find that they are actually very impressive. This particular jade deposit is thought to be one of the oldest jade formations in China. Its particular characteristics are such that; the size of the jade pieces, physical composition and general appearance make it very attractive to artisans and commercial users the world over.

The company’s current plan is to work the entire vertical spectrum of the jade market. Around the world, and particularly in China, jade is a prized material for carving and physical structures. Within China, finding a vender for a particular grade of jade can be a very profitable venture not unlike the marble quarries of Italy. With a fifty year contract in place, the company looks to be positioning itself for a good solid long term run at providing a superior material to a very stable and wealthy marketplace, beginning to end.

a:Global Development Has Found Panama

Development may have arrived, but leaders are progressing with the long term in mind

It could be the year round spring time mountain temperatures or the equatorial conditions found on the beaches but, for the most part, it is the economic conditions found in Panama that have brought real estate investors calling. Particularly in Panama City, real estate speculators are busily going about plans for high rise condominium/casino/resort projects. A consortium of European developers has a 93 floor building going up and Donald Trump has plans for a resort/condominium project on the boards.

Why now?
In more recent times, Costa Rica was the “it destination” in the region. Vacationers from around the world were flocking to that country for the beautiful beaches and relatively stable political and economic conditions. The problem was, that there was relatively little buying of real estate going on. The country apparently got stuck in a destination vacation mentality. Panama, however, has developed in such a way, with help from history and the United States, that longer term real estate development has become a lucrative option since the handover of the canal in 2000.

Generally, Panama’s time for world recognition, as a development and destination country, was just a matter of time. Developers had a past perception of instability where there was none. The country just needed to be recognized as an opportunity.

Blame it on the canal
Location and circumstance are the real reasons for the eventual rise of Panama. It was just a matter of time until the full resources of a “modern” world could take advantage. Before construction of the Panama Canal the region was mostly a haven for mosquitoes and Yellow Fever. With the beginning of the canal this issue was resolved and thousands of Americans began flooding into the “Canal Zone” for construction, security and administrative jobs. With political agreements in place, these Americans, in one form or another, never really left.

What they ultimately left behind, after a few false starts by the new Panamanian government, was a sometimes called ‘United States of Panama.” In many respects, some of the remnants of the American culture surpass the true American original. Healthcare is inexpensive, economic growth runs just a bit higher than the US and crime is quite a bit less than the general perception.

Retirement fueling real estate growth
Although general business is helping to fuel Panamas’ growth, its true recognition on the world real estate stage is coming from United States and European retirees. The initial real estate boom has largely been fueled by retirement communities located in the mountains and, to a degree, in “gated” golf communities closer to the coasts.

In the past, these retirees may have had a certain perception of Panama. Now those perceptions have changed as they visit for holiday and decide to stay. Local foods, American style shopping, a relaxed pace, easy transportation and lower prices all make for a near perfect retirement location if an international option is desired. Perhaps two of the largest benefits are health care, which costs substantially less than in the United States, and that the English language which is just as prevalent as Spanish.

Economic Stability
As Donald Trump and others go about their building activities, the economy is running right along side to fill the buildings that are being constructed. Panama has slowly gotten its economic base under control after some rocky missteps. In today’s economy, the country is known as a transit point, not only for goods but also for services. In many respects, Panama has become a cross roads for the world. The job of getting the country up to full speed is far from complete but the work is progressing nicely.

Shipping, trans-shipping
There are two main areas that the country is working diligently on so the overall economy can maintain its solid annual growth. These two areas are shipping/ trans-shipping and communications. Again, owing to the canal, shipping is one of the country’s main revenue generators. Year over year growth has been occurring and is expected to be maintained into the foreseeable future. To maintain this pace, and keep pace with escalating ship sizes, a program to increase the size of the canals’ locks and channels has begun. Currently, there is a very large market waiting in this area as is the current market for getting through the canal.

A natural off-shoot of the canal is the trans-shipping and warehousing of goods. This segment of the shipping market continues to grow and recognizes Panama’s importance as a gateway to China and South America’s large economies of Chile and Brazil.

With this recognition, Panama is a member of the World Trade Organization, a benefit recipient of the Caribbean Basin Initiative and is in current talks for free trade status with a number of countries. With each agreement, real estate will be a leading beneficiary and continue to drive development.

Communications
Another contributor to Panamas growth is its location and communications. There are several land portals that use Panama as a central switching location for South American traffic. Quite a few telecommunications companies have recognized Panama’s opportunities and applied for licenses for a variety of operations. The country’s leaders, however, will not be overrun by these companies and are carefully addressing each step as a process. The government does not appear to be dragging its feet, so-to-speak, but they are being careful. The opportunities are enormous not only for switching opportunities but for services such as high speed internet and VOIP.

Currently, internet opportunities are underserved as the government sorts out, broadband type services, computer to phone and other longer range possibilities. They want to be future looking as they make their decisions now. One interesting statistic remains, however, only 12 percent of homes have telephones.

Looking to the near future
As world real estate executives, travel agents and business in general looks at Panama, and Panama City in particular, the question remains, what will happen next? Real estate executives are diving in head first and see only profits for all sectors, Travel agents are seeing retirees looking for cool mountains and hot beaches and business is chomping at the bit for a bit more technology infrastructure. There are certain tipping points along the growth spectrum and Panama is near one, in one form or another. Today, however, life is good in almost every respect in Panama.

c:Kodiak Energy Inc. Readies to Pull British Columbia Drilling Trigger, Comparisons to Barnett Shale Made

Now that oil and gas prices have retreated from unsustainable levels, oil and gas exploration and development companies have begun to step back and assess where their prospects for future development and profit lie. Some may sell percentages of leases while others may drill. Having data in hand to make longer term decisions will be a key element for smaller oil and gas companies going forward. Finding those companies, that have planned for the long haul, is the path to profit. Finding them is the trick.

Kodiak Energy Inc., a development stage oil and gas exploration company, works to develop and extract oil and gas primarily in the United States and Canada. The company is currently focusing its efforts on winter drilling opportunities in Canada.
Although the company has solid prospects in both the United States and Canada, it is currently focusing a majority of effort on its “Lucy” northern British Columbia prospect. For the better part of a year, the company has been testing this prospect for the best way to tap indicated reserves. With a majority of results in, it feels that the prospect shows similarities to the Muskwa shale gas prospect and Barnett shale play in Texas. Understanding that core testing is needed to solidify results, the company has filed with the government of Canada (and received approvals) to begin experimental drilling for comparative data along the edges of the known Muskwa and Horn River basin prospects. This data is a critical piece of information for the company as its general business strategy is directed at either ownership and production or sale in some form. For the moment, the company is eagerly awaiting colder temperatures to begin drilling work. From all indications, infrastructure construction should not be an issue with solid results due by early 2009, baring any difficulties.

The company is beginning to assess findings at its EL 413 site, as identified by the 2005 Chapman Report. This site (in total) has indicated shallow pools of oil (with some seep) with little gas opportunity. Moving forward, the company sees potential as it continues to assess its involvement. The company’s 79,000 acres of land in northeastern New Mexico has also shown solid potential with gas, CO2 and Helium indicated. 2D seismic readings indicate solid potential with the company assessing plans for development. Although time will tell, Kodiak Energy has lined up several projects for exploitation. It has spent time testing and making sure that a solid opportunity exists before it commits its full resources. From all appearances, Kodiak is well positioned and on the verge of revenue generation and profit.

c:Allegiance Bank of North America Continues to Practice “Old Fashioned” Banking Practices with All the Modern Conveniences

Today’s financial melt-down continues to find investors running for the sideline. Some, however, say that the time may be near to start thinking about getting back into the finance sector. As with any down-turn, quality does exist if a closer look is taken. Larger institutions, that were the darlings of the mortgage banking system in the past, may not be the right play at the moment as they continue to dig out of the mess of their own making, but smaller banks with the tried and true main street “neighborhood banker” tag may be. Prudence and solid financial values define this type of bank. If an issue appears, it is dealt with swiftly and proactively to maintain the banks reputation and balance sheet. Old banking values may have been lost in the past, but they may now be just the guide to finding quality where there once appeared to be none.

Allegiance Bank of North America., a full service commercial bank based in Bala Cynwyd Pennsylvania, offers a full range of personal and commercial banking services. Chartered in 1998, the bank has five branches and a non-active subsidiary taking the form of Paramount Mortgage & Capital LLC.

From a general point of view, the company is weathering the banking crisis in solid fashion, as compared to other similarly sized banks. On its banking side, the company has very little exposure to non-performing assets and has dealt with those assets that have not performed to a reasonable result in the third quarter. Given the current standing of the banking system, Allegiance Bank appears to be in a solid position. Its capitalization is currently well above the Federal Reserves definition (10%) of “well capitalized” at 15.8%, its net interest margin is comparable with similar institutions at 3.84% and core deposits grew fro 30% to 40% over the last year.

The company, however, has had some exposure to the current financial condition of the country through its non-active Paramount Mortgage & Capital subsidiary. In typical fashion, however, it has dealt with the issues and currently sees no need for increasing loan loss provisions. As of September 30, 2008, the company currently carries loan loss provisions of 2.6% of total company loans or $3.5 million. As a comparison, and to demonstrate the swift action and attention that management has paid to the current banking situation, non-performing assets of the company as a whole, dropped from 4.8% to 3.9% from June 2008 to September 2008. Allegiance Bank of North America is a prime example of a bank that pays attention to its balance sheet and acts prudently and quickly to maintain a solid foundation. Its loan growth appears sound and with an eye on stability. If dipping a toe into the financial markets is a thought, Allegiance Bank may be a good option.

c:Nevada Geothermal Power Inc. Indicates Fixed Price Contracts Awarded, Moving Forward to Deliver Solid Supply of Clean Energy

In today’s rocky economic setting, it is always a refreshing event to see a project with broad economic reach progressing forward nicely. Past posts have spoken to a company’s ability to make visionary steps a reality with the long term in mind. Economic conditions can make this process more difficult, but if a company has truly hit upon a solidly profitable and visionary idea it will find a way to succeed. As an investor, finding these ideas and visions may be difficult, but when an investor does, they may find the rewards profitable and personally satisfying.

Nevada Geothermal Power Inc., a geothermal power developer and generator, works to develop and operate geothermal electric power plants primarily in Nevada. The company is currently making solid headway in the construction and tie-in of its first geothermal power generating plant (with additional units in process.)
As other alternative energy sources receive the lion’s share of publicity, Nevada Geothermal Power is quietly going about its business of implementing plans for delivering clean electric power to the electrical grid. The company is far from the initial “wouldn’t it be nice” aspect of generating clean and affordable geothermal energy and closer to the “turn the switch” phase. This, of course recognizes that a geothermal electricity generating plant does not just spring up out of the desert overnight, but does recognize a guaranteed contract for the completion of the company’s Blue Mountain unit by the end of 2009. Currently, plans are on pace for specialty components to arrive on site in the spring of 2009 with fixed price line contracts awarded. This 21 mile wood pole line system is also a guaranteed delivery by June 2009 with a terminus at The Sierra Pacific Power Company. The line is rated to 120kW of power.

Past posts have recognized the company as holding solid potential for low cost clean power if they could get the project built. As that recognition was made before current lending issues arose, one might suspect getting the project completed might have run into issues. According to the company, this is most definitely not the case. Financing (TCW Asset Management) is well defined and in place, particularly for its 49.5 megawatt Blue Mountain project. As timing for these particular types of projects is an aspect to consider, it is likely that the company’s remaining lease hold properties, rated at a potential 200 megawatts, will fall into place nicely as current lending issues work themselves out. From all appearances, this coming utility seems to have all its ducks in a row with clean and reliable power generation not to far off. In many respects, past the geothermal portion of the equation, Nevada Geothermal Power might be thought of as a solid example of how to make other clean power work to everybody’s advantage.

c:ThermoEnergy Corp. Continues to Capitalize on Wastewater and Sludge

In many instances, it is the obvious things in life that represent the best investment opportunities. Items that are used each and every day with little or no thought. Add this idea to not being able to live without the product and a sure fire way to profit is at hand. There aren’t too many of these items in the world but they are right in front of investors each and every day; air, water and to a degree food. An investor that can find a forward thinking company operating in one of these areas is an investor that will profit.

ThermoEnergy Corp., an integrated technologies company, works to develop and market clean water and energy products. The company focuses its efforts on waste water treatment processes where nitrogen/ammonia removal systems may represent capital and cost constraints to municipal and industrial users. Resulting by-product opportunities are also a leading source of revenue for the company.

Where many other natural resources receive a majority of attention in an energy oriented world, ThermoEnergy Corporation has chosen to focuses its efforts on wastewater. Many indicate that, in the not to distant future, water will be the most valuable commodity in the world. ThermoEnergy is playing off of this coming reality and working to save, clean and profit by its use and reuse. The company is currently working with a unique process that removes nitrogen/ammonia from waste water in such a way that the needed systems are smaller, less expensive and more economical in operation (30% less operational costs.) The system also generates a marketable by-product in the form of an inexpensive fertilizer and several types of biofuels. Presently, the company’s focus is on the water treatment aspect of the process as it begins work on a New York City 500,000 gallon per day water treatment facility.
Past the sale and marketing of the company’s water treatment equipment, it has found that its treatment process provides for the sale and reduction of waste water treatment by-products. Invariably, there is a by-product from waste water treatment called sludge. In most instances (95%), waste water treatment plants generate a sludge that is hazardous to humans, causing storage and cost issues as the sludge is dealt with. The company’s process leads to a different kind of sludge that is less harmful to humans. It is also rated as acceptable by the EPA to be burned as a fuel (industrial fuels for cement kilns, waste to energy plants and alike.) Ultimately, this result leads to the customer, or the company, being able to realize a secondary revenue source from the overall process.

With a recently added waste water and filtration company called CASTion Inc. ThermoEnergy is quickly presenting itself as leader in the waste water treatment and bio-fuels marketplace. As the realization that water is more valuable then other natural resources becomes more apparent to those in power, ThermoEnergy Corp. will be ready to capitalize with a ready made source of clean water and profit.
