Tallahassee, it’s a triple threat of success

Located on the “pan-handle” of the State of Florida, USA Tallahassee is the state capital and home to two major Universities. Florida as a whole is finding many new arrivals. The Tallahassee region, however, is growing slowly and nicely. The general feeling in this regard is “thank you very much.”


Tallahassee proper has approximately 156,000 people living within its boundaries with a total of 255,000 if the surrounding region is considered. People moving to the area will find a moderate climate although humidity can be annoying on occasion. People traveling in the region will often compare weather they encounter with the lowlands of Georgia and South Carolina.

Politics and college football

Tallahassee is largely a governmental, defense manufacturing, college type town. For the most part, this works well as a triple threat for US governmental funding. Tallahassees’ business community often finds a steady stream of researchers moving in for the research money that Florida State University and Florida A & M provide. Another part of the triple threat is General Dynamics Land Manufacturing Systems (Military and Combat applications.) This outfit likely doesn’t need to many non Tallahassee employees as it likely takes people right from the universities.

There is a certain amount of out migration from Tallahassee. Not for any particular reason but for the fact that almost 57 percent of the population is aged between 18 and 44 years and in their prime migration years. In a certain sense this is a bonus for Tallahassee as they are constantly seeing new and fresh ideas coming to the city. A balanced economy and a relatively solid employee base makes Tallahassee or other Florida destinations a prime choice for those looking to relocate.

Not to fast and not to slow

Although it is not as highly publicized as other regions of Florida Tallahassee does see people moving to the area for a certain amount of even living. They describe the region as having a not to fast and not to slow pace but rather just right. If they would like to take a garden walk it’s just down the street. If a little excitement is in order the universities and their associated activities are available. One of the more interesting new areas that Tallahassee residents are hearing about is the State Capitals renovation. If there is one thing that politicians love to do in Tallahassee it is talk about projects close to their working home. And they have a doozy going on to benefit all.

Outside of the dry conditions and fires that Florida has been having of late, with some almost near Tallahassee, all is going along nicely in Tallahassee. But then again it always does in this garden capital. Families generally stay in the capital city area and life moves on nicely, thank you. If there is a political scandal it is no big deal, its politics. If Florida State University looses an athletics game there could be real trouble (LOL sarcasm.) Government, big time college football and a defense manufacturer, Tallahassee, It’s a triple threat for success.
